The Child Care Subsidy Program assists families in paying child care costs for children under age 13 who are not eligible to attend public school during the part of the day when public education is available, or children with special needs under age 18 who reside with the applicant. If you are eligible and are approved for services, the Subsidy Program can pay a portion of your child care costs directly to the child care provider.

Driving Lives Forward
Driving Lives Forward connects economically-disadvantaged families with reliable vehicles and affordable auto loan financing, providing not only safe transportation, but, importantly, a way to establish sustaining employment and create or improve credit history – critical for access to affordable capital. This unique partnership relies on an equity framework to support families and individuals in the removal of transportation barriers as they seek progress on the road to economic resiliency.
To qualify you must: – Be employed for at least 6 months, working at least 30 hours per week – Be without access to a vehicle

Childcare Benefits or Supports
Here are some helpful tips to find out if your employer offers childcare benefits or supports.
Employee Handbook or Policies: Start by reviewing the company’s employee handbook or policies. Often, child care benefits are mentioned in these documents along with other employee benefits.
Human Resources (HR) Department: Reach out to the HR department directly. They can provide information about all the benefits available to employees, including child care assistance programs, subsidies, or flexible spending accounts for child care expenses.
Intranet or Company Website: Check the company’s intranet or website for information on employee benefits. Some companies have dedicated sections or portals where employees can learn about available benefits and how to access them.
Ask Colleagues: If comfortable, ask colleagues who are parents if they are aware of any child care benefits offered by the employer. They might have insights or firsthand experience with the company’s programs.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP): Some companies offer employee assistance programs that include resources for child care support and referrals. These programs may provide counseling, information, and assistance in finding suitable child care options.
The Energy Assistance Program consists of three components:
Fuel Assistance assists low-income eligible households by supplementing home energy costs. Applications are accepted the second Tuesday in October through the second Friday in November.
Crisis Assistance assists low-income households with energy related emergencies. Applications are accepted November 1st through March 15th.
Cooling Assistance assists households in acquiring or repairing cooling equipment and /or payment of electric bills to operate cooling equipment. Network2Work matches quality job-seekers with available jobs that pay a decent wage and lead to a career. We listen to local employers who tell us what they need. Once a job-seeker selects a job they want to pursue, we connect them directly to the training and resources they need to help them get and keep that chosen job—resources like affordable childcare, reliable transportation, legal assistance, health care, and more.
At Network2Work, we follow the saying, “It’s not just what you know, it’s who you know.” We get to know the job-seeker, we know the local employers, we know community resource partners, and we can help make the connection.
How Does the Program Work?
Network2Work @PVCC directly addresses barriers to employment and intentionally recruits job-seekers who are struggling in our economy and connects them with employers interested in filling available jobs.
Through our custom-built technology platform, we bring together the three networks critical to making this work: employers, job-seekers and social service providers.
Job-Seeker Network – The Secret Sauce Rather than wait for job-seekers to come to us, we recruit trusted neighbors, “Connectors,” to intentionally reach out to members of their community who are experiencing economic insecurity and connect the with Network2Work.
Provider Network We build a network of resource providers in the community and connect job-seekers to the support services they may need to secure and maintain employment using our nationally-recognized platform.
Employer Network We build relationships with local and regional employers and post their available job opportunities on our award-winning N2Work online platform.
PIPP (Percentage of Income Program) is designed to help income challenged Dominion Energy customers manage their electric bills year-round. The customer’s monthly bill is based on a percentage of the household income and the primary heat source.
The TANF program provides eligible families with a monthly cash payment to meet their basic needs. For a child to be eligible he must be:
Under the age 18, or if 18, but not yet 19, enrolled and attending a secondary school or vocational/technical school of secondary equivalency and is meeting the enrollment and attendance requirements as determined by the local school board
Living with a parent or other relative
A Virginia resident
A U.S. citizen or an eligible immigrant
Part of a family in need of financial assistance
The Code of Virginia, §63.2, requires that the TANF program be administered in accordance with federal and state statutes and regulations and policies established by the State Board of Social Services.
Participants may be provided with services such as job skills training, transportation and other work related expenses.
Diversionary Assistance and Emergency Assistance
Diversionary Assistance (DA) and Emergency Assistance (EA) are non-recurring, short-term benefits that may be provided to needy families with children who are eligible for TANF.
Diversionary Assistance (DA) DA benefits are intended to prevent potential TANF recipients from becoming ongoing TANF recipients. If immediate intervention with short-term aid will resolve a one-time emergency or crisis to prevent the need for ongoing TANF, the assistance unit may be granted Diversionary Assistance. DA may address a short-term need such as food, shelter, medical expenses, childcare expenses or the costs associated with getting or keeping employment, including transportation. Eligibility for Diversionary Assistance may only be determined for households applying for TANF. Current recipients of TANF are not eligible for Diversionary Assistance.
Emergency Assistance (EA) EA may be provided to needy families with children who are eligible for, or are receiving, TANF, when the family has an immediate need resulting from a natural disaster or fire, or to assist with eviction prevention.
To apply for DA or EA, an application for the TANF program must be submitted. To complete an application, you may (1) apply online for benefits at commonhelp.virginia.gov/access; (2) call 855-635-4370; (3) apply in person at your Local Department of Social Services (LDSS); or (4) mail a completed application to your LDSS.

VIEW is a program of employment, education, and training opportunities to assist individuals in attaining the goal of developing economic independence. The program goals are to offer Virginians living in poverty the opportunity to:
Achieve economic independence by removing barriers and disincentives to work and by providing positive incentives to work;
Provide work skills necessary for self-sufficiency;
Allow families living in poverty to contribute materially to their own self-sufficiency;
Set out the responsibilities of and expectations for recipients of public assistance; and
Obtain work experience through the various employment, education and training components of the VIEW program.
Recipients of TANF and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families – Unemployed Parent (TANF-UP) benefits, must participate in the VIEW program as a condition of eligibility, unless otherwise exempt. The TANF-UP program is intended to provide assistance to families with two able-bodied parents.
Full Employment Program
The Full Employment Program (FEP) is a subsidized employment program designed to provide an opportunity for participants to increase self-sufficiency by earning a living wage, increase career-related work skills, and improve their competitiveness in the labor market.
Employment Advancement for TANF Participants Program
Through grants, the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) funds projects under this program. The projects are designed to provide proven service approaches and strategies to help current and former TANF clients to prepare to enter, succeed, and advance in the workplace. The expected outcomes of the project are improved job placement, improved job retention, higher employment wages upon entry, and increased wage gains from job advancement.
